Mohammad Nabi recalled for Pakistan T20Is

Afghanistan have recalled experienced campaigner Mohammad Nabi for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan, the ACB confirmed on Tuesday, March 21.

Nabi had resigned as Afghanistan captain after the T20 World Cup last year and was also omitted from the squad for the series against UAE last month. Clouds of uncertainty hovered over his international future back then given he was approaching 40s but the senior all-rounder has now been recalled for the series that is set to be played on March 24, 26 and 27 in Sharjah.

The selectors have left out opener Hazratullhah Zazai and Rahmat Shah for this series while including uncapped opener Sediqullah Atal. Nijat Masoud and Zahir Khan, who were members of the squad that played against UAE, are chosen as standbys this time around alongside Nangyal Karoti.

Squad: Rashid Khan (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Ibrahim Zadran, Usman Ghani, Sediqullah Atal, Najibullah Zadran, Afsar Zazai, Karim Janat, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Fareed Ahmad, Fazal Haq Farooqi and Naveen Ul Haq
