Kieron Pollard whacks Haris Rauf for a big maximum

The Qualifier 1 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League was played between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars, wherein Kieron Pollard turned back the clock to deliver a vintage performance with the bat. The big-hitting right-handeder unleashed six sixes in his 34-ball 57-run knock that played a pivotal role in sealing Multan’s berth in the final of the tournament.

Pollard took Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf to the cleaners at the death. In the 18th over, the West Indian smashed a six and a four off Rauf while in the following over bowled by Shaheen, Pollard sent three balls over the fence, receiving vociferous applause from the crowd. The 35-year-old also smashed a six in the 17th over bowled by the left-arm quick.

Courtesy Pollard’s pyrotechnics, Multan posted a stiff total of 160/5 in 20 overs. Lahore suffered a grave collapse with the bat to be bundled out for just 76 runs in 14.3 overs. It was largely due to Pollard’s entertaining knock that Multan registered a jumbo 84-run win in a crunch game.
