Gentle inswinger hands Litton Das a duck

Shakib Al Hasan’s late assault gave Bangladesh the much-needed impetus as they ended up with 246 in 48.5 overs, in the third ODI in Chattogram. Shakib slammed 75, yanking the home side out of a hole before falling in the penultimate over. Mushfiqur Rahim and Najmul Hossain Shanto struck patient fifties but the pair couldn’t kick on to assist in the delivery of the finishing kick.

Adil Rashid, despite bowling just five overs, was the pick of the bowlers snaring two wickets. Jofra Archer captured three wickets while Sam Curran took the first two wickets, continuing his domimance over the Bangladesh top-order. Chris Woakes and teenage debutant Rehan Ahmed took a wicket each.

On a slussish wicket, England are unlikely to have a walk in the park chasing 247 runs as Bangladesh have three spinners in their line-up. The home side had to scrape for most of their 48.5 overs, with partnerships enabling them to a par score.
