Sir Alastair Cook and Tom Westley extended their dominant purple patch in the Royal London One Day Cup on Sunday as the pair put on 127 to chase down a sub-par 159 with nine wickets and nineteen overs to spare.
So far in the tournament Westley and Cook are averaging 119.5 and 107.5 respectively, and were coming off the back of an unbeaten partnership of 159 the week previous after Essex produced another comfortable nine-wicket win, against Middlesex on that occasion.
