Poor communication left Trent Rockets’ Deandra Dottin stranded in the middle of nowhere in The Hundred Women’s clash against London Spirit. On strike, Heather Knight skipped down the track but missed a flick, and the ball caromed into cover. Dottin called for a leg bye that was attainable, in all fairness, but Knight was preoccupied trying to get back into the safe confines of the batting crease.
The chaos meant Dottin was sold out three-quarters of the way down the wicket as keeper Rachel Priest underhanded a throw to Sarah Glenn, who dived into the stumps at the non-striker’s end to send Dottin packing.
😱 Utter confusion – and Dottin is run out! 😱#LondonSpirit 🔵 #TrentRockets 🟡 #TheHundred 💯
