Steve Smith, the batter that Australia were banking on to tackle Indian spinners, was trapped in front of the wickets by R Ashwin. After the batter sent the decision upstairs, the Decision Review System showed that the wickets had been clipped on Umpires Call.
Earlier, Ashwin had removed the stalwart with an undercutter in the first innings of the game. This was the 8th occassion Ashwin dismissed Smith, which tied him with England’s James Anderson. Stuart Broad leads the list with 9 scalps.
