The day-night Test at the Bay Oval continued to hurtle along at warp speed as England racked up 158 runs in 25.1 overs in the first session, with Neil Wagner’s bumpers proving mighty expensive. New Zealand, however, had four wickets to show for it – Stuart Broad, Ollie Pope, Harry Brook and Joe Root, who was dismissed attempting the reverse sweep once again, off Michael Bracewell this time around. Ever since he’s added a streak of innovation to his batting, Root has generally pulled off the reverse laps pretty well but the execution has now gone awry twice in a row.
