Devon Conway led the charge for New Zealand in the first session on Day 2 at the Bay Oval, hammering three boundaries off Stuart Broad in the opening over of the day. The other overnight batter, Neil Wagner, cut loose himself, smashing three consecutive Stuart Broad bouncers for a boundary and two sixes. However, the pacer had the last laugh as he uncorked a slower full delivery, which Wagner flicked to Ollie Robinson at mid on. Conway often gave the spinners the charge, even tonking Joe Root for a six with aplomb.
