Alice Capsey thunders a 22-ball 51 against Ireland

Alice Capsey’s onslaught and Sophie Ecclestone’s game-breaking spell of 3 for 13 proved to be the bedrock of England’s four-wicket win over Ireland in a T20 World Cup game played in Paarl. England chased down the lowly target of 106 in the 15th over.

England did lose an early wicket in reply, with medium-pacer Orla Prendergast accounting for the dangerous Sophia Dunkley. However, the talented 18 year-old Capsey, who represents Surrey and Oval Invincibles, unfurled a catalogue of shots to transfer the pressure on Ireland en route her 22-ball 51.
