Harry Brook careened nine sixes before falling three shy of a hundred as England kickstarted their tour of New Zealand with a typically aggressive batting show in Hamilton. After two sessions the tourists had notched up 375/6, scoring at 7.2 an over as their bold approach to the longest format continued unabated.
Ollie Pope led the side in the absence of Ben Stokes. There are no injury doubts over the skipper, who was said to be content with his preparations and did not feel the need to partake in the warm-up fixture.
