Jos Buttler has admitted to feeling annoyed at not being able to have the best resources at hand for England’s ODI assignments building up to their World Cup title defence later this year in India. The 50-over champions stumbled to a series defeat in South Africa and will next tour Bangladesh without a few of their potential starters owing to those players having chosen to ply their trade in franchise T20 tournaments around the world.
The England captain acknowledged the reality that many of these tournaments are lucrative than an England gig and therefore didn’t believe those players should be ostracised from the England setup in the future.
“You wish that everyone would see playing for England as the main thing and grab any opportunity available but there are bigger things in play as well.”
