The curator of Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium has been sacked after preparing a “shocker of a wicket” for the second T20I against New Zealand. Though India won the game on Sunday with a ball to spare, skipper Hardik Pandya gave a scathing assesment of the pitch, calling the strip a “shocker”. The ball touched the fence only 14 times in the game and both the teams combined to bowl an incredible 30 overs of spin.
New Zealand were restricted to 99/8 and India had a tough time chasing the par score on the turning track.
