Chasing a competitive target of 299, England are off to a promising start against South Africa in the first ODI in Bloemfontein. Openers Jason Roy and Dawid Malan have added 53 runs in the first nine overs.

In the first half, Rassie van der Dussen slammed his fourth century, while David Miller scored a well-paced 53 to take the Proteas to 298/7 in 50 overs after electing to bat first. Sam Curran scalped three wickets including the prized scalp of Quinton de Kock at the top.
