Prithvi Shaw bludgeons record-breaking 379 against Assam

Filing a strong reminder of his credentials to the new national selection committee, Prithvi Shaw slammed a record-breaking 379 off just 382 balls against a hapless Assam in the Ranji Trophy on Wednesday at the Amingaon Cricket Ground in Guwahati. With this marathon effort the opener now holds the record for the second-highest individual score in the history of the prestigious red-ball tournament.

Bhausaheb Nimbalkar, who scored an unbeaten 443 for Maharashtra against Kathiawar back in December 1948, sits atop the list.
