The Board of Control for Cricket in India acted upon the recommendations of the Cricket Advisory Committee to appoint Chetan Sharma, Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sridharan Sharath as part of the new selection panel of the Indian Senior Men’s team. The CAC also suggested that Sharma continues as the chairman of the selection committee.
The committee comprising Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape went through 600 applications during the process.
