Sarfaraz Ahmed caught at leg slip with Pakistan needing 32

Under fading light, Pakistan salvaged a draw by a narrow margin to deny New Zealand a series win. Pakistan’s saviour of the day was Sarfaraz Ahmed who scored his fourth Test ton, after a gap of eight years, but when he fell for 118 with 40 balls left in the day’s play, New Zealand were again smelling blood.

However, the last wicket pair of Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed negotiated 21 balls before the action was called off due to bad light, ensuring that the series ended on an even keel.
