Dasun Shanaka arrived at the crease with Sri Lanka in a spot of bother at 110/4. In the 16th over bowled by Umran Malik, Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga departed to leave the tourists six down. From a delicate position of 147/6 in 17 overs, anything around 170-180 would have been a competitive total. But Shanaka had other ideas.
He put Malik to the sword, slamming him down the ground for a four, fetching a six over fine leg and slicing one over cover for a maximum. Arshdeep Singh ended up being struck for a six and a four by Shanaka in the 19th over while Shivam Mavi was deposited for three sixes by the Sri Lankan captain in the final over as the visitors overachieved at the death to leave India with an uphill task.
