South Africa didn’t have the wherewithal to stop Usman Khawaja until the Sydney weather proved a buzzkill, leaving him stranded on 195* as the run-fest of a day came to a slightly poremature end. It was a day of reigniting his love affair with a happy hunting ground and a city where he’d spent his formative years as Khawaja scored his third successive Test hundred at the venue – and 13th overall – in the morning session.
