In what turned out to be a game where the momentum oscillated to and fro, India held their nerve to clinch the opening T20I against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium by just two runs. Shivam Mavi had a dream debut as he returned four wickets while Axar Patel and Deepak Hooda, who struck four sixes and a boundary in his 23-ball 41, shared a vital unbeaten 68-run stand for the sixth wicket to help India recover from a dicey position. Axar also bowled the last over smartly and defended 12 runs.
#DeepakHooda‘s boundaries are a display of exceptional big-hitting in cricket! A star, capable of batting in any position, he’s surely an asset for #TeamIndia.
