Devon Conway and Tom Latham pushed Pakistan on the backfoot in the morning session and the Kiwi dominance continued in the afternoon via a 92-run partnership between Conway and Kane Williamson. Conway got his ton with a clip through midwicket, but Pakistan clawed back into the contest with six wickets hitherto in the afternoon and evening session combined, including that of the centurion and the skipper. New Zealand’s lower-middle order would be gutted to have not capitalised on the platform.
