Shikha Pandey has been handed a recall to the Indian Women’s team for the upcoming T20 World Cup in South Africa. Pandey has not featured for the national side in more than a year with her last appearance coming in October 2021.
The 33-year-old pacer didn’t seem to be in contention to get selected for the marquee event after not being picked for the recently-concluded Australia series. Previously, in the T20 Challenger Trophy, she played four games and managed only two wickets. Her inclusion, however, adds experience to the pace attack comprising of Renuka Thakur, who made her debut only last year and newcomer Anjali Sarvani.
