In an interview with Sky Sports ahead of the Manchester Originals against Birmingham Phoenix, Liam Livingstone revealed he was somewhat confused by the finer details of his opening game of The Hundred.
“We had know idea what was going on!”, Livingstone said, describing the competititon so far as “slighlty chaotic”, but looking forward to how it and the players’ understanding would develop. The England man also spoke about the opportunity to feed off Kane Williamson’s knowledge and the alien prospect of playing for an away side at Old Trafford.
💬”Hopefully I don’t get booed! That’s my biggest worry today.”💬

As we all attempt to decipher the smallprint of this new cricketing manual, Livingstone’s enthusiastic yet palpable confusion is rather reassuring. Perhaps, though, it will be of some concern to the ECB that their attempted simplification of the game is going over the heads of the people playing it.
