South African speedster Anrich Nortje thinks the spider camera shouldn’t be travelling at head height after the freak accident on Day 2 of the second Test against Australia in Melbourne. The pacer copped a blow from the moving spider cam shortly after Lunch.
Host broadcaster Fox Sports later apologized to him and the South African team, while Cricket Australia admitted it was an error by the operator. Cricket Australia also confirmed that the spidercam would be operated with added safety measures to ensure such an incident doesn’t occur again.
After a spider cam hit him from behind and knocked him to the ground, South Africa’s Anrich Nortje was in good spirits.
But he did acknowledge that he could have been seriously hurt and said he doesn’t think cameras should be operating at head height.#AUSvSA #BoxingDayTest pic.twitter.com/4caTLwm8py
