Babar Azam reaches three figures against New Zealand with a six

Babar Azam scored his ninth Test hundred to weather the storm after Pakistan’s top-order collapsed against New Zealand on Day 1 of the series-opening Test in Karachi. The Pakistan captain made the most of his luck after getting a reprieve on 12 and also survived an lbw referral in Ish Sodhi’s first over.

This is Babar Azam’s second Test century against New Zealand and fourth as Pakistan captain in Test cricket, equal to Pakistan great Hanif Mohammad. Notably, Misbah-ul-Haq (8) holds the record for most Test hundreds as Pakistan captain.
