Stokes gives Brook a thumbs up to rid the youngster of run-out guilt

A 46-run stand between Ben Stokes and Harry Brook bailed England out from a delicate situation but an episode of miscommunication cut the partnership short. Brook whipped the ball delectably and Azhar Ali gave chase from backward square leg. He put in a sliding dive and saved the boundary before throwing the ball towards the non-striker’s end, where there was no batter as both Stokes and Brook found themselves near the batting crease. The duo was interested in the third run but the youngster turned his back on the skipper, who didn’t hold any grudges and gave Brook a thumbs up to carry on with his innings sans the feeling of guilt.
