Shreyas Iyer is enjoying a dream run in one-day cricket. With Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill setting up a good platform in the series opener against New Zealand, Iyer joined forces with Sanju Samson to keep the tempo up. New Zealand lent him a couple of reprieves, and Iyer made the most of them to register a crucial fifty whereas Samson at the other end chipped in with 36 as well. Iyer eventually ended up with 80 as India posted 306/7 in the stipulated 50 overs, a target New Zealand overhauled thanks to Tom Latham and Kane Williamsonโs unbroken 221-run stand.
