Tammy Beaumont caresses a cover drive in WBBL

Adelaide Strikers posted 144/4 in the stipulated 20 overs riding on opener Laura Wolvaardt’s unbeaten 56-ball 75 before Megan Schutt made mincemeat of the Sydney Thunder middle and lower order to bag the first-ever six-wicket haul in WBBL history. Tammy Beaumont (37 runs off 27 balls) gave Thunder a promising start in the run chase but Schutt drew first blood in her opening over itself to take out Phoebe Litchfield cheaply. Thereon regular wickets never allowed them to string together a decent partnership as they went down by 26 runs.
