England were reeling at 118/5 in the first ODI against Australia with five off their top six back in the hut, but Dawid Malan came good when the chips were down. He paced his innings perfectly, building valuable partnerships with Liam Dawson, Chris Jordan and David Willey. The southpaw took calculated risks, and upped the ante progressively after his fifty to acquire a memorable century. He was dismissed finally for 134 with a tifck under five overs to spare. But his second ODI ton and crucial contributions from the lower order pushed England to 287/9.
Dawid Malan really can score to anywhere on the ground.
