Head coach Rahul Dravid said India’s lopsided defeat to England in the semifinal was disappointing but the T20 World Cup campaign as a whole could not be termed a debacle. India were outplayed in all departments of the game by Jos Buttler’s side, taking their winless streak at ICC events into a 10th year. Dravid agreed that England were the better team on the day by a distance but stated that allowing Indian players to play the BBL was fraught with risk as it would jeopardize India’s domestic cricket, especially the Ranji Trophy, the prestigious red-ball competiton.
