Isuru Udana dropped after losing Prithvi Shaw battle as Kasun Rajitha comes in for Sri Lanka who opt to bat first in 2nd ODI vs India

Insipid returns of 27/0 in two overs in the ODI series opener against India have cost Isuru Udana his place in the side. Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Sri Lanka have drafted Kasun Rajitha as a seam-bowling replacement for Udana, as predicted in our match preview.

The left-armer proved mighty expensive in the first game, with Prithvi Shaw flaying as many as five boundaries off his military medium. Although Udana needs to be cut some slack as many of the deliveries that raced to the fence were not half bad. It was Shaw’s breathtaking strokeplay that made a mockery of his figures.

Rajitha has nine ODIs under his belt and was a member of Sri Lanka’s squad in the 2019 World Cup. Meanwhile, India haven’t tinkered with the winning combination as they set their sights on a series win.
