Non-striker Glenn Phillips demonstrates unique way to get a headtstart

New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips brought up his second T20I century in the T20 World Cup clash against Sri Lanka on Saturday. Thanks to his single-handed effort, the Kiwis reached a fighting score of 167/7 which proved to be beyond Sri Lanka’s reach.

During the final over of the innings, Phillips, in an endeavour to retain the strike, crouched low à la athletes before a sprint, and the moment Lahiru Kumara released the delivery, he made a dash towards the striker’s end. Phillips has drawn plaudits for this unique way that helps in both shunning the prospects of a run out at the non-striker’s end and getting a nice headstart.
