Sri Lanka reduced to 24/5 in manageable chase

It has been a disastrous start for Sri Lanka in the 168-run chase against New Zealand. Pathum Nissanka was dismissed LBW by Tim Southee’s 3/4 seam ball. Trent Boult too employed the 3/4 ball to account for Kusal Mendis. In the same over, Dhananjaya de Silva chopped one back onto the stumps. Having lost three in just two overs, Sri Lanka were desperate for a revival. But Charith Asalanka eked out a leading edge to backward point off Boult and the dangerous Bhanuka Rajapaksa mistimed a heave to the fielder at mid off.
