For the second time this week, a match in the T20 World Cup was abandoned due to rain. In the case of South Africa and Zimbabwe at Hobart, some play was possible before the heavens opened up to play spoilsport. The bowling attacks of the two sides had polar-opposite strengths but the rain Gods didn’t allow us an opportunity to witness the battle.
But on Wednesday, New Zealand and Afghanistan didn’t get to play, let alone walk out to the middle at the MCG for the toss. Eventually, rain forced the abandonment of the Group 1 match in Super 12, with points split between both teams.
