A hat-trick from spinner Karthik Meiyappan was to no avail as the United Arab Emirates were beaten by Sri Lanka at the Men’s T20 World Cup. Meiyappan dislodged Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka to help keep Sri Lanka to an underwhelming 152-8. However, the UAE were skittled for 73 to slip to a 79-run defeat that has pushed them towards the exit.
