Washington replaces Chahar for remaining South Africa ODIs

All-rounder Washington Sundar has been named as the replacement for Deepak Chahar for the last two ODIs against South Africa, BCCI announced on Saturday, October 8. Washington, who has played four ODIs so far, played the last of those against West Indies in Ahmedabad in February this year.

Chahar, who experienced stiffness in his back after the third T20I against South Africa in Indore, has been ruled out of the ODI series after having missed the first match in Lucknow. He will be heading to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to be supervised by the medical team.
