Miller slogs Axar to bring up hundred in Guwahati

Suryakumar Yadav and David Miller dazzled in an exhibition of range-hitting at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati as India and South Africa played out a run-fest on a good batting surface. At the end of 40 overs which saw action being held up due to a snake and a malfunctioning flood-light, 458 runs were scored in total as India edged their visitors out by 16 runs, completing their first home T20I series victory over the Proteas.

Suryakumar crafted 61 off 22 and put on 102 off just 42 for the third wicket with Virat Kohli (49*) while Miller’s 106* off 47 came in a partnership of 174 with the slow-starting Quinton de Kock (69*) on a night when bowlers struggled with gripping the ball as extreme humidity fostered dew.
