Don’t bowl there! – Rahul flicks Norte into the stands

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have provided another solid start to India. The captain got into the act with a pair of fours off Keshav Maharaj in front of square to end the PowerPlay. Rahul was severe on anything drifting towards the pads, picking up freebies with glee. This pair now holds the record for the most 50+ partnerships in T20Is (15), going past Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl. The visitors brought Lungi Ngidi into the playing XI for Tabraiz Shamsi. Rohit admitted that the wicket looked a little tacky and he was not particulary sure of how it would play out.
