They took polar opposite routes to their half-centuries but Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul ensured there were no more hiccups in India’s small chase after the loss of two early wickets. The former got going with back to back sixes off Anrich Nortje’s over to give India the move on. The pair rotated the strike efficiently to stabilize the innings. Rahul got into his groove with a wristy flick over long-on for six as India went past the fifty in the first ball of the 11th over.
Wayne Parnell finished with impressive figures of 4-0-14-0 but Nortje continued to leak runs. Rabada’s figures (4-1-16-1) weren’t razed, however, by the back-to-back fours Suryakumar hit to bring up India’s 100. And while he reached his second half-century on the trot with a single, Rahul raised his with a slog sweep into the stands to take India home in style.
Hit it like SKY! 👌👌
