Deepak Hooda has injured his back and the BCCI has said he was not available for selection for the third T20I against Australia in Hyderabad on September 25, Sunday. The BCCI statement on Sunday read: Deepak Hooda wasn’t available for selection for this game owing to a back injury.
The recent development is that Hooda’s injury could need further attention of the medical staff at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. He has not travelled to Thiruvananthapuram as a result and Shreyas Iyer, who was announced as a standby for the series against South Africa, could be drafted in as Hooda’s replacement.
