Former Bangladesh captain and experienced wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim announced his retirement from Twenty20 internationals on Sunday, stating that he’ll now channelise his focus towards Tests and ODIs. The veteran cricketer is also available to play T20 franchise leagues.
Mushfiqur’s decision comes in the wake of Bangladesh’s exit from the ongoing Asia Cup, where they lost both group stage matches to Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The senior pro failed to contribute with the bat, managing 4 and 1, and fluffed an important chance of Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis behind the sticks.
