Led by Sam Cook’s exceptional 4 for 18, Manchester Originals’ six-match unbeaten streak was snapped in the final of The Hundred, at Lord’s on Saturday, as Trent Rockets registered a thrilling two-wicket win in a low-scoring affair to clinch the title. For a slow-moving affair that it was, the finale culminated in a dramatic finish. Josh Little, Paul Walter, Tom Hartley and Matt Parkinson all picked up two wickets apiece, but in the end, it didn’t prove adequate.
Brief Scores: Manchester Originals 120/9 in 100 balls (Ashton Turner 26, Tom Lammonby 21; Sam Cook 4-18, Samit Patel 3-23) lost to Trent Rockets 121/8 in 98 balls (Dawid Malan 19, Tom Kohler-Cadmore 18; Josh Little 2-18, Paul Walter 2-21) by 2 wickets
