Stuart Broad asks umpire if front-foot was fine on wicket ball, gets a thumbs up

Eventually, Stuart Broad gets the wicket of Aiden Markram, who goes for a drive and ends up edging it to Zac Crawley in the cordon. Broad even checks with umpire Chris Gaffaney if his front foot is fine and the umpire responds in the affirmative. Markram departs for 6, leaving South Africa at 54/3.

Earlier, Keegan Petersen attempted a drive off James Anderson and was given out caught-behind. But he reviewed it and replays show that there was a gap between bat and ball. Markram too was bowled by Broad for a duck by a jaffa but the third umpire signals that the bowler has overstepped. Markram gets off the mark with a four the next ball.
