England were rocked early this morning after a two-wicket burst from Anrich Nortje, but the pair of Ben Foakes and Ben Stokes has led the recovery as they go into lunch with a lead of 61. It’s been absorbing cricket through the morning session with South Africa getting the ball to reverse-swing, and then the spinners getting extracting a bit of purchase from the surface. Stokes and Foakes have been up to the challenge so far. The game has still not gotten away from the Proteas though. A lot will depend on how long this partnership kicks on.
