New Zealand Cricket has agreed to release their pace spearhead Trent Boult from his central contract. The left-armer made the request, and following multiple conversations with New Zealand Cricket, the board has agreed. Boult, 33, made the request in order to spend more time with his family and make himself available for domestic leagues around the world.
In what will be the home stretch of Boult’s career, he will have a significantly reduced role with the Blackcaps, while still being eligible for selection if and when available. The pacer admitted that such a move will impact his chances going forward, but reckoned the time was right to take this step.
