Joe Root dives forward to hold onto a sharp chance

Dawid Malan’s brilliant unbeaten 49-ball 88 and an 86-run opening partnership with Alex Hales set the platform for Trent Rockets’ seven-wicket win over Northern Superchargers in Leeds. Superchargers had recovered from a wobbly 68 for 6, courtesy David Wiese’s 27-ball 50 as he nudged his side to 152 for 8 in 100 balls. But that proved inadequate in the end.

Joe Root couldn’t get his chance to bat but took an awesome catch in the deep to dismiss Dwayne Bravo, who failed to keep his pull along the carpet. Trent Rockets won the match comprehensively in the end, thanks to the substantial contributions from their openers.
