Jos Buttler won his first toss in his last eight attempts, an occasion so elusive he received a cute little round of applause from his teammates, who will field first in the second T20I versus South Africa in Cardiff.
England’s win by 41 run on Wednesday gave them a 1-0 lead in this three-match series. It was a run-fest in Bristol, with as many as 427 runs being racked up. Thus, Buttler had no qualms in stepping out on the park with an unchanged XI.
“A little bit to see the conditions,” opined Buttler when quizzed on why he decided not to bat first. “We’d like to try and chase if we can.”
