Dinesh Chandimal hammered an unbeaten 206, his only double ton and highest Test score, as Sri Lanka gained a strong lead of 190 runs against Australia in the first innings before debutant left arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya made mincemeat of the visitors in the second, handing them a glittering series-equaling victory. Jayasuriya ended the match with twelve scalps after Australia exploded rather dramatically to lose 9 wickets in the final session, bringing the match to a swift conclusion. Australia’s reply had started in solid fashion before Ramesh Mendis trapped David Warner LBW minutes before the Tea break, after which the innings went pear shaped altogether.
Dinesh Chandimal has torn strips off the Aussie attack, scoring an unbeaten 206* – bringing up his double century with two huge sixes, one of which ended up on the streets of Galle 🇱🇰🏏
