Rohit Sharma has thrown his weight behind Virat Kohli, saying that the senior pro’s high-risk approach, a departure from his standard style of T20 batting, was in accordance with the team’s new batting philosophy. Rohit stated that Kohli’s intent was a personal decision of the batter as well as one based on the team’s requirements and that his early dismissal in Edgbaston and Nottingham were justifiable tradeoffs for the uber-positive batting approach. For the second match in a row, Virat Kohli stepped out to bat with a hyper-aggressive mindset.
