Ben Stokes’ snorter extends Virat Kohli’s barren patch

Jonny Bairstow dictated the terms in the first two sessions but it is the visitors who lead by 257 runs and have 7 wickets in hand at the draw of the stumps. The day started with Bairstow struggling to put bat on ball but a confrontation with Virat Kohli spurred him on and he went bonkers, going from 16 off 64 to 100 off 119. There was decent support from Ben Stokes and Sam Billings but India kept chipping away at the wickets and managed to get a big lead of 132. Shubman Gill went in the first over, while Hanuma Vihari and Virat Kohli too bit the dust but Cheteshwar Pujara has held one end up firmly.
