Stuart Broad sends down the most expensive over in Test history

The ghosts of Durban 2007 have come back to haunt Stuart Broad and England, who’ve not learnt the lessons from Lord’s last year. They’ve bowled excessively short at tail-enders this morning and have leaked runs, with Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah carting Stuart Broad for 35 in an over.

There was a four that evaded Zac Crawley at fine-leg followed by 5 wides with the wicketkeeper getting nowhere close to the ball. Broad then bowled a no-ball that Bumrah top-edged over the keeper’s head for six. A pull to midwicket ensued and another full toss that Broad let slip was dispatched to long on for four. It was a wild swing in the fortunes of Broad who just picked up his 550th Test scalp.
